Morani River Ranch, Uvalde, TX - June 2005 This trophy bass lake was constructed on a private game farm in southeastern Texas. The lake features a small island protected by a vertical rock wall, while the lake shorelines are protected with a combination of vertical rock walls, rip-rap and emergent vegetation. A boat dock was also constructed and placed on the southern shoreline. Aeration and artificial fish habitat were strategically placed throughout the lake and the surrounding area was hydroseeded utilizing a native grass seed mix. Largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish are the primary species in the lake, with fathead minnows, golden shiners, and rainbow trout stocked to supplement the food base for the large bass.
