Isleta Lakes and Recreation Area, Isleta, NM - August 2006 The project included a complete reshaping of the shorelines and deepening of two lakes, and eliminating the third lake. Shoreline treatments included the addition of vertical rock walls, rip-rap and emergent vegetation. Two large bridges were set which lead to a completely renovated island. Various structural amenities were added to the area including fishing shelters, restrooms, corporate pavilion, fish cleaning station, and a fish holding facility. Pathways and landscaping were also included in the project. We added aeration and fountains to ensure that the water did not stratify and employed an aggressive stocking schedule to provide ample angling opportunities to this new urban fishery.
