Flying V Ranch
Taos, New Mexico
This private ranch in northern New Mexico features a 0.25 surface acre pond that the ranch owners utilize heavily for summer and winter recreation, including fishing and ice skating. The lake loses a large amount of water each year to seepage, and survival of trout was marginal due to poor lake health.
ACI provided design and renovation services to eliminate seepage loss and improve lake health. Care was taken to preserve the large tree surrounding the lake, shorelines were re-sloped, and a liner was installed. Aeration was added to the lake to prevent stratification and fish habitat was installed to provide cover for trout species. A custom dock was built over the water to allow the owners to enjoy the newly renovated lake amenity.
